Affordable Water Filters

Is getting a Cheap water filter just as good as an expensive filter? 

There are many water filters on the market.  Many are inexpensive and many are more expensive.  You have probably heard the old adage “you get what you pay for”  Well I have not found that always to be the total case.  Many very good filters can be inexpensive.  However, you probably need to read reviews.  Less expense filters may be just as good, however, some may not last as long before you need to replace the filter so check into the life expectancy of the filters on your filter box or information sheet.  You may find a cheap water filter that lasts just as long as the more expensive ones and eliminates the same pollutants. 

You will want to determine what chemicals and other pollutants the filter actually removes.  Many inexpensive water filters will not remove as many items as those that cost more.

You may be able to buy a water filter but then choose the type of filter you install into that model.  The actual base may be one thing and you choose what type of filter needed depending on what you plan to use the water for doing.  You may plan to drink the water so you will want only the best filter to remove all minerals and contaminants or you may be showering in the water so you may not be as concerned with the mineral or hard water content.  You may also be using the filter for the washing machine and only wnat to remove the hard water mineral deposits.  Read the filter information carefully.  It will tell you how many gallons of water can dispense through the filter before it needs replacing.
